AAATNA (Association for Anthroposophical Art Therapists in North America), is alive and well in Toronto!
After the first ever anthroposophical art therapy conference in North America, where 40 participants from both sides of the border joined Kenneth McAlister MD in a weekend conference on 'Healing our Perceiving', AAATNA-Canada, originally our Canadian spin-off, has now become THE official North American association. For the time being at least, AAATNA has closed its US base.
One major reason for this change is that Canadian Banks can accept US dollars without bank penalty, making it possible for us to achieve our original goal of being one association for all of North America, rather than two separate national associations.
As past president of AAATNA, and now as official US liaison to AAATNA, I'm encouraging all art therapists, art therapy students and those who wish to support this work - especially previous AAATNA members, to now reconnect with AAATNA to help us create a strong North American association. I will remain the US contact for AAATNA. You may contact me at phoebe@artopathy.com or 212-744-0257.
Please contact Lyne Monkhouse at monkhouse@sympatico.ca for information or to have an AAATNA membership form mailed to you, or write to her at:

AAATNA's MISSION AND VISION STATEMENTS
The mission of AAATNA (Association of Anthroposophical Art Therapists in North America) is to serve our members by creating opportunities to exchange artistic experiences and undertake professional development. Through these commitments we will build a bridge to the wider world community, creating awareness of Art as an instrument for healing and social change.
Vision Statement
In order to facilitate a deep sense of colleagueship and professional development we will: · Hold regular meetings · Share our work and research · Engage in artistic activities · Organize workshops, seminars, excursions and retreats.
We ensure regular communication and bridge building to both, our members and to the wider community by means of newsletter, website and conferences.
To facilitate this we will use a mandate system for decision making.
